Tervia ("Tervia," "we," "us," or "our") is an online multiplayer sandbox game. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, stored, and protected when you play Tervia through our official game website, itch.io browser release, or official game clients.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information necessary to operate Tervia, including:
- Account Information: Usernames, account identifiers, authentication information, account creation details, and account status.
- Gameplay Information: Inventory, in-game currencies, character appearance, progression, worlds, world ownership, player settings, trading activity, and other persistent game data.
- Communications: Public chat messages, private messages, player reports, and other player-submitted content.

4. Information Visible to Other Players
Your username, character appearance, public profile, public chat messages, and activities within shared worlds may be visible to other players.
Other players may capture screenshots or recordings of publicly visible gameplay and communications. Do not share passwords, payment information, addresses, or other sensitive personal information through the game.
5. Communications and Moderation
Tervia provides public chat and private player-to-player messaging. Private messages are directed to selected recipients but should not be considered end-to-end encrypted.
Authorized staff may review communications and relevant records when necessary to investigate reports, protect players, or enforce game rules.
6. Data Retention and Automatic Deletion
Tervia automatically deletes the following records from its active database after 30 days:
- Public chat messages
- Private messages
- IP addresses and connection logs
- Moderation records and related activity logs
Database Backups: Tervia maintains manual database backups for up to six months. These backups may contain historical information that has already been deleted from the active database.
Backups are retained for disaster recovery and data restoration purposes and are deleted after their retention period.
If an older backup is restored, Tervia will reapply applicable data retention and deletion procedures.
Certain information may be retained longer where required by applicable law or necessary for an ongoing legal or security matter.
Account and gameplay information, including usernames, inventories, progression, and owned worlds, is retained to support persistent gameplay, subject to account deletion procedures and applicable law.
Third-party infrastructure providers may maintain separate technical records according to their own retention policies.
8. Service Providers and Information Sharing
Tervia uses third-party infrastructure providers to operate, deliver, and protect its services.
Cloudflare: Provides website delivery and security services. Cloudflare may process IP addresses, browser information, connection details, and security information when visitors access Tervia.
OVHcloud: Hosts Tervia's multiplayer game server and database infrastructure. Player accounts, gameplay information, worlds, inventories, communications, and other game records may be stored or processed on this infrastructure.
These providers process information in connection with the services they provide. Their independent data retention practices may differ from Tervia's 30-day retention schedule.

Tervia may also disclose information when required by applicable law or reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, protect players, or address security incidents.
Future Payments and Purchases
Tervia may introduce optional real-money purchases of Gems or other virtual content in the future.
When purchases become available, payments may be processed by third-party payment providers. These providers may collect information necessary to process transactions, including payment details, billing information, and transaction identifiers.
Tervia does not currently offer real-money purchases through its official game service. Before payment features launch, this Privacy Policy will be updated to identify the relevant payment providers and describe how purchase information is handled.
9. External Platforms
Tervia may be available through third-party platforms such as itch.io. These platforms may independently collect and process information according to their own privacy policies.

10. Data Security
Tervia uses account authentication and server-side gameplay controls to help protect accounts and the multiplayer environment.
No online service can guarantee complete security. Players should use unique passwords and contact support if unauthorized account access is suspected.
11. Your Privacy Rights and Account Deletion
Depending on applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with your account.
Account deletion may permanently remove access to characters, inventory, progression, currencies, and owned worlds.

12. Children's Privacy
Tervia is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in violation of applicable law.

13. International Users and Policy Updates
Information may be processed in jurisdictions where Tervia and its service providers operate. Applicable privacy rights and international data transfer requirements will be respected.
We may update this Privacy Policy as Tervia evolves. The last updated date will be revised when changes are made, and material changes will be communicated where required by law.
